The Edible Frogs are inhabitants of White Deer Park in the books and the TV series.

The edible frogs are first met by Toad when he rests in White Deer Park on his way back to Farthing Wood after being captured in a jam jar and taken away from the wood. They greet Toad warmly and tell him all about the park, before Toad tells them he has to leave to get back to his own pond in Farthing Wood. The edible frogs are among the animals that gather to greet the Farthing Wood animals as they arrive in the park, and listen to the story of their great journey. Once in the park Adder spends most of his time by the pond hoping to catch some of the frogs to eat, but he fails to catch a single one.

The edible frogs hibernate for the winter and thus avoid the great cold that takes the lives of so many of the park's inhabitants. When they resurface they gather in the pond to court during the mating season, the sight of which causes Adder to move away from the pond as he has no wish to watch their mating rituals.

Two years later, the edible frogs are forced to flee from the pond when The Beast arrives at the park and causes pandemonium among the pond's inhabitants. During this time Adder and Sinuous are able to catch and eat several frogs as they are much easier to catch out in the open. When the Beast finally leaves the park, the frogs are able to return to the pond.

When the brown rats invade the park, they attack the inhabitants of the pond and kill several edible frogs, who are powerless to defend themselves.
