Fieldmouse is a fieldmouse who appears in the books and the TV series. He is the elected leader of the group of fieldmice that travel from Farthing Wood to White Deer Park. Fieldmouse travels with Mrs Fieldmouse in the TV series, but no mate is ever specifically mentioned during any of the books. Fieldmouse is killed by Scarface in the books, but appears to die of old age in the TV series.

The Animals of Farthing Wood[]
After the animals agree to travel to White Deer Park, Fieldmouse is elected by the other fieldmice to be their representative in discussions along the way. When several of the voles and fieldmice give birth, he agrees with Vole that if the parents and babies are to stay behind, then the other voles and fieldmice must stay behind too. Unlike Vole however, when Badger disagrees with this proposal Fieldmouse understands that he has the whole group to think of and not just the smaller animals. When the baby voles and fieldmice are killed by the shrike, Fieldmouse tells Badger they have all agreed to stay with the other animals for the rest of the journey. Fieldmouse plays a relatively minor role for the rest of the journey and arrives safely at White Deer Park with the majority of the other animals.
In the Grip of Winter[]
Fieldmouse is one of only three Farthing Wood fieldmice to survive the animals' first winter in White Deer Park, along with two other members of his family. When spring starts to arrive he and Squirrel tell Whistler that he no longer needs to collect food from the town, outnumbering Vole who is not so sure that the food will not be required.
Fox's Feud[]
Fieldmouse attends the meeting to discuss the problems the animals are having with some of the park's inhabitants, but is hardly seen for the rest of the book. Fieldmouse and several members of his family are later killed in a mass attack on the Farthing Wood animals by Scarface.
